With the Premier League only days away from kick off we thought it was about time we had a closer look at the latest Nike match ball for the new Premier league season and see what the worlds best goalkeepers will be dealing with on match day.

This latest Nike football will be the choice for the English Premier League as well as Italian Serie A and Spanish La Liga – the Nike Maxim football features Nike RaDaR (Rapid Decision and Response) technology that is a lab and field-tested standard of visual performance.

The maxim will be Nike’s twelfth official European match-ball which has been made with durable casing and pressure distribution technology, the Maxim Football delivers superior accuracy and league pride, but will this ball be a nightmare for goalkeepers across the globe? With each new ball release they seem to get lighter and lighter and move though the air quicker than ever before, we here at The Six Yard Box have been testing the ball today and we were so surprised at how much power you can get when unleashing a strike.

To maximise the ball’s performance on receiving and distribution – a five layer construction guarantee optimal first touch while a 360 sweet spot allow consistent response off the foot. The Geo II Balanced Technology – an aerodynamic textured casing – delivers accurate and powerful strike, no matter where you hit the ball.

Key Benefits

  • TPU casing for great touch and durability
  • Geo II Balanced technology distributes pressure evenly for consistency and accuracy
  • Carbon-latex bladder for acceleration and superior air retention
  • League crest for pride and allover screen print for better visual tracking
There is no dought strikers will love this latest football but goalkeepers may have their hands-full!
Nike have also produced their usual take down balls, the new Strike is now available in most sports stores as well, we have below showcased these.
