Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert say’s that he is delighted at his goalkeeping options at his new club.
Brad Guzan kept a clean sheet as Villa beat Philadelphia Union 1-0 on their pre-season tour of the United States and Lambert says is delighted with his goalkeeping options, insisting that all players are “on a level playing field.”
Lambert told the press: “Shay Given is a fantastic, world-class goalkeeper. And every time I’ve seen Brad Guzan play, he’s been excellent. It’s great that he’s signed with the club again. Everybody’s on a level playing field.Lambert left Norwich at the end of last season to take up his role at Villa and hailed the club’s history and tradition as a major factor in his decision to leave Carrow Road. The former Motherwell man is also keen to improve on a disappointing campaign at Villa Park last term under Alex McLeish
